About the Resolution
The American Military Heroes Act – 2026 is a non-partisan piece of proposed federal legislation that honors the extraordinary sacrifices made by our Armed Forces through four concrete, lasting resolutions.
For too long, the men and women who sacrificed everything for our Nation's freedom have received words of gratitude without meaningful action. The American Military Heroes Act – 2026 changes that. It proposes concrete, lasting recognition — not monuments or ceremonies, but real, tangible relief for the families of the fallen, the permanently disabled, and those still unaccounted for.
Our veterans answered the call without hesitation. They left their families, endured unimaginable hardship, and many paid the ultimate price. The least we can do as a Nation is ensure their families are never burdened by federal taxes for the rest of their lives. This is not a partisan issue — it is a moral obligation.
Veterans Day on Election Day
Designate the 2nd Tuesday of November as Veterans Day — coinciding with Election Day — so that every American who casts a ballot is reminded, in that very moment, of the sacrifice that made their vote possible. This transforms Election Day from a political event into a patriotic one, uniting the act of voting with the memory of those who died to protect it.
Lifetime Tax Exemption for Families of the Fallen
Exempt the immediate surviving family members — specifically mothers, fathers, and spouses — of Armed Forces members killed in a declared military conflict from all future Federal Income Tax for the rest of their lives. This is a permanent, lifetime recognition of their immeasurable loss and sacrifice.
Tax Relief for Permanently Disabled Veterans
Provide a Federal Income Tax exemption equal to the percentage of disability, as designated by the Veterans Administration, for veterans who have suffered a permanent debilitating injury in military conflict. A veteran rated at 70% disability, for example, would receive a 70% Federal Income Tax exemption — real, proportional relief for those who gave so much.
Tax Relief for POW & MIA Families
Exempt the families of POW/MIA service members from Federal Income Tax for the duration of their loved one's declared POW or MIA status. This acknowledges the ongoing sacrifice and uncertainty borne by these families while their loved ones remain unaccounted for.
